We stayed at this campground alot last year and the two times we have stayed this year, has not been as nice. The staff seem to be going through the motions. The activities were not on the same level as last year. The over all feel of the campground was different. I asked a question of the person manning the check-in desk and was told to find the manager and ask that question. I left a message for the manager to call me and nearly 24 hours later I still hadn't heard from her. The campground was full last year for Labor Day. This year there were several spots available. Maybe I'm not the only one who has seen a change for the worse this year.
We stayed in a deluxe pull thru site. We loved the quiet atmosphere and the space between the sites. I wasn't sure if I was in a KOA or not. The only drawback was the closing of the overpass to get southbound travelers to the park. I didn't reflect that in the rating as they have no control over the issue.
We had a concrete slab spot. We had a great time and the campground workers were lots of help. I highly recommend the express check in. We breezed right by the check in lines and were unhooked and set up in no time. I thought that a golf cart was an unnecessary thing but it is almost a necessity. The only drawback was that the campers seemed unfriendly. Possibly since there are so many campers there. We will be back!
We just returned from a 3 night stay and we had a great time. We typically stay in state parks so we were a little concerned about the crowd at a commercial campground. The sites were closer than a state park but private enough. Our 5 year old had a great time and the park seemed to cater to the kids. They had a live band on Saturday night and a DJ on Sunday. We liked it so much we are parking our camper there for the month of October.
This is our second stay here. We stayed for 6 nights and couldn't ask for anything better. The only reason I gave the park a 9 was the poison oak/ivy around our campsite. Once that's addressed it will truly be a 10. We are considering going back in the fall for another week. There is so much to do and see.
We had hoped to stay in the new B loop but due to the ceiling falling in the new bath house, we stayed in the older A loop. The sites are not as flat but we had a great stay. We arrived on Saturday and left on Wednesday. After Saturday night we were almost alone in the campground. We would stay here again.
We have stayed here many times this summer. We spend more time in Camp Burson which is outside the park. It is connected to the rest of the park by trails and the road. Camp Burson is as far away from the lake and other amenities as the B campground in the park. One advantage Camp Burson has over the B loop is that it has a swingset. We will stay here many more times.
Nice Shady campground. The roads to the sites are a little rutted but useable. Close enough to Boone to do things there but far enough away to be quiet. We would stay here again.
